I'm curious as to how it breaks down...I'm sure Verizon leads the way. I would think so, anyways.

I'm very happy with Sprint, although if I lived in the country or traveled outside of major interstates and cities very much, I've heard service isn't nearly as good.

I teach at Verizon...
Verizon sucks...as a company...they treat their customers and employees like crap.
HOWEVER, they do offer the best all around rates and service...signal wise...I can even get their signal out on my boat in a variety of locations that I could never get with Sprint...
The 'IN' network is where the deal is...everyone in my family, except one person, has Verizon and the calls are all FREE...no fee for it either...it is automatic...so if you happen to call someone else or receive a call from someone else that is using Verizon then there is no charge...you don't have to pick certain people.
The things I wish they had are:
Rollover minutes
FREE incoming
better insurance (it is a scam...like all of them)
And everything is on the web as well...billing, tracking, managing...since I do as much as possible over the internet that is appealing to me...

I don't even like to talk to people in person; why the hell would I own a cel phone?
There is just not that much in the world that is so important to say that it can't wait for me to get to a land line. I've watched people on their cels, and we have achieved the ability for people to talk to each other about absolutely nothing. This is progress?

As a not so glorious part of my job, I invoice mobile device bills. Since Cingular merged with AT&T, they gobble up the market and have the best coverage, BUT Sprint typically has much cheaper rates. As a disclaimer, those observations are just what I've gathered from a couple hundred bills I handle at work every month.

I went with Verizon because everybody I know has Verizon so I burn up the IN calling. I have'nt had any problems with signal or service yet. I found a couple dead spots but not many. I got the cheap family share plan and with the IN calling we never go over.
My work gave me a Nextel, I don't have much problem with signal since they merged with Sprint, the phones are heavy duty, I like that, and the plans aren't that bad now.

I'm a verizon user since 1997 or so. I've always had the bare minimum of minutes as I don't use my phone all that much. I don't make or take many calls, but I like the convenience of having a cell.
I have not had any problems with service or billing or any of that stuff, plus I get a company discount on my service (something like 5% off, I think). My wife used to have Sprint an it was pretty crappy, service wise, but that was about 4 years ago.
My only real complaint with Verizon is their lack of "cool" phones. They are all pretty basic and not all that many features...some of my friends have phones that do a lot more or have the capability to just "unlock" other phones and connect to their service, which is what I would like to do.
But, every couple years, I go back in, get the $50-$100 allowance and get a new phone, so that is kinda cool...just wish their phones had better features...

me and my girlfriend are on the family plan and our bill is about $120 a month so $60 each, it suck and it cost like $150 or $200 to buy out of our contract.
