UPDATE!!

This is the new link to the calendar. USE IT!!

http://fortwaynemusic.com/calendar/calendar.php

Great for all kinds of new features. Post recurring events ONCE and program it to repeat them...

We will be working the new GFX into it as well....look for changes there son. Also an actual link from the main page to it once Garr gets the fixes in place for the new server and his backend stuff...

I must bring this up again since now we have the calendar in place and the link working. The new calendar is awesome...we are working on the GFX set for it right now also...

Take advantage of the cool new features it offers and look for the mini calendar to be posted in the boards section very soon...

Hey Chris, tried to add a show on Monday morning, but it hasn't appeared yet. Is there a backlog waiting to be entered or did I screw something up? It was for 1947CCC playing MOMS on 10/17. Let me know, I can re-submit if need be. Thanks.

Let me go take a look. I don't think there is an approval process turned on...that is why there is a registration process...:)

I brought up the discussion of catagories to active staff members...

Anyone think we should do different catagories in the calendar? Nothing too crazy, but seperate music from other events or some structure that is easy to understand and work with? I wouldn't want to go so far as genre, but that is also possible...

Suggestions? Ideas? Yay? Nay?

Again I will be stressing use of the calendar.

We went through the effort of rebuilding the server and installing cool new updates only to basically be ignored...

Take advantage of the calendar...take advantage of what we have done here...

I wanted to take a second to toss up a link to demonstrate one of the cool new features of the calendar...

http://www.fortwaynemusic.com/calendar/ ... view&id=41

Notice the use of a logo/image on this calendar listing...

Keep them small and under control, but it adds a cool touch to your listing...toss up a band pic or an album cover...

Take advantage of everything with the calendar...

Calendar by this afternoon or it will be deleted.

Chris

You might start seeing this...and I will start doing this. I have asked nicely for YEARS now for the calendar to be utilized..I have given some leeway...I have spent many hours making this site happen. I have had MANY staff members that have spent MANY hours making this site work...I am tired of seeing it wasted.

I will take it upon myself to make sure this starts happening. A simple request to help boost the 'content' of this FREE site is not too much to ask of promotors and bands.

New rule...if you spend the time posting a show HERE...then you can spend a few seconds posting it on the CALENDAR. We have discussed some form or ability to link the two. I am sure will some skills and time that can happen...or someone might have done it on another site somewhere else...but until then it takes that LITTLE effort...

Now I thank you in advance for not wasting the staff's time deleting your threads...

Thanks
Chris

I have a dream...

That one day I will wake up to find MANY items ready to add to the calendar...

I have a dream...

That I will have to regularly check the calendar event adder to make additions to the calendar...

I have a dream...

That one time it won't be a waste of time for me to check the even approval panel...

I have a dream...

Effective immediately:

I will be sending out a weekly e-mail to everyone on the list as well as a few other lists that I have access too.

The e-mail will include links to the shows on the calendar for the upcoming week of the e-mail.

This is a great opportunity to get your shows out there. I expect to have a list of between 10000-15000 people by the end of the year to send too.

Don't be an idiot...USE THE CALENDAR!

Lame month on the calendar..all the fault of those who do not post their shows. It would be nice if the effort put forth to make this site happen was reciprocated with a little effort on the part of the actual bands that it promotes...

Simply put...put your forking shows on the calendar jackasses...:)

But I digress...Merry Christmas...:-D
