Notice this is one of those pivitol Tuesday shows...the ones that fill a venue list and get dropped a few weeks before...this is Fort Wayne...and this town is very notorious for those dates...I plan on attending though...let's hope it sticks..

Cmon Chris...don't be a pessimist....

It is after all Labor Day Weekend...well, at least the Tuesday after....

And it's my birthday....I figured the promoters knew that, and took it into account.....

Can't wait to party with Jimmie Vaughan...oh, yeah...and that nice Zimmerman boy, too.

tiny: heh...just going with town tradition. I hope to GOD it happens. Would be one of the more notable shows this town has had in years.

What station is promoting? You guys? (92.3) or Hot 107.9? :-D

WHEN the show happens...I will be there..;)

I'm with Julie.

Never liked the Bob.

I tolerate a few of his tunes that were covered, but all-in-all I would rather chew on foil.

Gimme about 3-4 songs and I'm good!

After that, the vocals would probably
do me in!

Pass the foil.

I've seen Dylan twice. The first time (Joyce Arena, Southbend, 2/14/99) I saw him I was horribly disappointed (but I was quite impressed with the Brian Setzer Orchestra). I swore I would never pay money to see him again. The only words I understood all night long were "Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Thank you." At first, I chalked it up to Dylan just having a sh*tty voice and I swore I wouldn't pay to see him again.

Then I saw him @ the Beale Street Music Festival (Memphis, TN, May 2001) and was totally blown away. GREAT show. The sound was great, the setlist was hot and I had the time of my life. So now I have changed my stance a bit. I refuse to see a show @ Joyce Arena EVER again.

I'm not claiming to be his #1 fan or anything but I will definitely be checking this out. He's a legend with quite a few songs that I do enjoy and it sure as hell beats most of the shows that come to town. Bob Dylan pissing in my ears is a thousand times better than a Saliva or Village People concert.

Woah, he opened for Dylan? Love Setzer's voice.,

That's how he's been throughout his career playing live.,,
He seems to be one of those hot/cold artists that performs well in
one place and sucks in the next..,, (though I've never been to Joyce Arena)

well said, my man, well said.

I will be there, as well. If the Fort is actually going to bring in someone better than Collective Soul....I refuse to miss it.

Granted, I wouldn't pass your hipster quiz if it was presented, but that's not how I enjoy music. I don't have to known everything about an artist to like them and, that being said, I am by no means a super-fan, but I do like him. I dated a guy for three years that had just about every album the guy put out and was obsessed with him and I grew to appreciate Dylan. Plus, you know that Ryan is also a fan. That alone makes up 10 years of being immersed in Bob.

I enjoy making things happen & showcasing good music....NOT so much social activity. If that was the case, I would be at C-Street EVERY Thursday & Pierre's every other day. In fact, I have little patience for people in social situations unless I am tipsy and rarely go out to events unless I like the band(s) playing or am directly involved in the production of it.

As far as chosing my words carefully, I do have some negative comments in mind, but I truly do wish that you would get more involved in things and have tried hard to extend those opportunities to you, so I'll end it right now & be the "better" person.

We can continue in PM if you like.

I love you, Julie!

I've been preaching the same thing for years. Most/some/few of you know that I'm into jambands. Kids in that scene are this way. It's like if you can't name a certain date that a certain version of a certain song was played, you don't deserve to call yourself a fan. To that, I say lick my ass. I like what I like and just because I don't know the name of the fat chick he nailed after a show at the Fleet Center, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate and enjoy his music.

In fact, I choose to have a life outside of music, as foreign as that may sound to some people.

(Editor's note: I am just offering my opinion. Not taking any sides in regards to the pissing contest.)
