Why is South Bend getting mad shows?

As the promoter, I find it easier to work with the venues in this area. I've tried to book a few shows in Fort Wayne, but there was too much red tape. Either the venue was shady (wanting part of the door), or the in house booking guy was super shady (wanting an insane amount of the door). I believe that venues should be happy to make their profits off of their booze. And I believe that an in house booking agent should be paid by the house. Neither should get any portion of the door.

But I'm sure there are plenty of good venue owners and in house booking people in Fort Wayne. The problem is, I have yet to find them.
