IPFW BOB April 21- Call for Submissions!

Post by chickrock »

That's right, it's time for the 3rd annual IPFW BOB (Battle Of Bands)! It's being held in the Walb Ballroom on Saturday April 21 starting at 5:00 p.m.

All bands entering must have at least one IPFW student or IPFW alumni. If you don't have a student or alumni, you may participate in the side show. The side show will feature at least three and up to seven 10 minute accoustic acts that play while the bands set up. In the past we've also had a rap group with a background track (it went over really well), so we won't rule that out either.

We are currently taking submissions until Februrary 28th. All demo tapes, CD's, or websites with music must be turned in to the IPFW Campus Scouts by 4:00 p.m. Februrary 28th. You may contact me, Brittney Johnson, here (chickrock on FWM) or at my e-mail address: brittneyj@gmail.com Another option to get us your demo cd or tape would be to drop it off in the Campus Scouts office in the Student Organization Suites in Walb room 218. We may only take 7 bands and those will be decided on by March 10. If you are selected to play, you will recieve notification.

The only garenteed band thus far is Color By Numbers, who is our returning champion from last year. They will be given any spot they want as a gratitude.

There will be plenty of prizes for the bands. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to give away cash. Past prizes included: recording studio time, hotel stays, free pizza, putt putt passes, Jam Crib time, and trophies.

If you can't play this event, we'd still love to see you! IPFW's 3rd annual BOB is held in the Walb Ballroom on Saturday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Admission is FREE and it's ALL AGES!

Hope to hear from you soon!

oops, forgot to mention...

Also forgot to mention:

Each band must play at least 1 original song. Each band gets a 15 to 20 minute set. I'll have to check exactly how long each band gets to play, but I know it's not long.

I'd turn in our application right now...too bad our recordings are currently outdated and terrible. But luckily we're going to record in indy in early Febrary. So, we'll be sending it in after that.

Consider your early application (the website) in! We'll await a demo Cd to be dropped off in the Campus Scouts office in the Student Org. Suites (Walb 218). Or just shoot me an email at brittneyj@gmail.com with the updated website.

We'd sure like to see you try! Give us a demo or an email to brittneyj@gmail.com with your website and we'll consider you. There's no telling if you'll make it in or not, so you might as well give it a try. The worst we can say is no.
