SuperHunk is in! We already do an awesome version of "Strutter" so we're half way there. I also claim dibs on "Parasite" and "Detroit Rock City." Parasite has one of the baddest most monstrous riffs EVER! ps. If you'd stop being a hater for one second you'd realize that Kiss isn't all that bad. I u...

Solo Wombateer @ O's, 12/23/07

For anyone who wants to hear some sad bastard music,* I will be playing a solo accoustic show on Sunday, Dec 23 from 7-9 at O's. Hey, It's free! Come throw cabbages and tomatoes! For clarification purposes, I should also point out that this was erroneously posted in Whatzup, by O's, as an open-mic n...

If enough people show up, I promise to play/sing the "T*ttyfish" song from "Metalocalypse."

I don't know about the movie, but the soundtrack is surprisingly well done.

Personally, I would be happy to give up a percentage to ensure that the show was promoted properly.

Re: what Ollie, cwallace and Fleek said.

We've looked into it, and the time slots that we can afford would actually reach our target audience. Spot on, in fact.
We can't afford to run during Grey's Anatomy, obviously, but we'd hit the wierdo market, which is exactly where we want to be.

Both, definitely. It's not solely the band's responsibility to promote. If the venue stands to gain or lose money based on turnout, then it's partly their responsibility to promote. One place who is really good about this is Mickey Finn's, in Toledo. They promote just as much, if not more, than the ...

I am ready for contracts though, I am getting so frustrated with a few bars and promotors. It sucks because we have always had a rep for being easy going and nice guys, its possible that we will loose our rep. but then again it was probablt that rep that made people think they could d*ck us around ...

Kimaliz, I agree with a lot of what you said, but please remember that I also said before that this is not a regular thing for us. If we played every show for this amount of money, then I would agree 100% with you about undercutting other bands. The fact is, though, that this is a rarity. We have al...

To piggyback on what Lou said, we played a few nights before the Berlin show and made several hundred dollars. Then we played Berlin for essentially nothing. You know what? The Berlin show was 10 times more enjoyable than the one we did the previous weekend. As far as the "that's what you're worth" ...

Honestly (and I don't mean to give offense by saying this. It's just my opinion), if you don't understand that it's not always about getting paid, then I can't explain it to you.

OK, everything is offically all cleared up. The confusion arose because Johnny from KOS originally booked it as a Tito Discovery show, and Carmen from O's did not know that KOS was Johnny, Johnny and Duane. The show is still on, confusion free, and Carmen said that you fine LLC boys can still play i...
