A large number of them don't have a care in the world for our stuff nor respect for us in general. Anyone is welcome in MY house or MY country if they abide by the RULES in place and have respect. Once the line is crossed they have to GO... Get us some figures on that sh*t. That sounds like douche ...

right. we should just end all border security, defund the entire military, plant flowers in our tanks and gun barrels and let all those peace loving people from around the world come in unfettered... Let them come in? They're already here: it's their forking planet too. As for the rest, like I said...

More on the melody topic, it doesn't apply to just soloing. Sometimes you can find more creative approaches to a song by approaching your rhythm part as if you were creating a counter melody to the lead. Listen to the alternating sections in a big band arrangement or the clarinet and trombone in a t...

Bumping an old thread, yeah, but I have a few minutes to kill at work. I'm not old yet (I'll hit that 30 mark in a few years though), but I was recently looking back and creating a sort of musical autobiography of things I was into at various times. And I realized that after 1996, I virtually stoppe...

My question was actually a serious one. With the bleh-ness of top 40 radio in so many areas of the country and the slow death of music television with actual shows about music, what sort of advantage do the majors have over labels like Merge or Kill Rock Stars when it comes to picking up the pop gen...

A new model for the music industry? Maybe, maybe not. Remember, it is because of the record industry that we've even heard of Radiohead. They can now afford to nix the hand that sparsely fed them, but made them a household name. A local band using the same marketing technique is not goint to get th...
