I'm gonna guess it happened sometime in December because my band played in November.

i know for awhile Richard was having a tough time getting it booked.... and it's really tough to get people out on a tuesday when you're not allowed to start before 10p.

I played MOMS one night back in. . .oh. . .I think it was August or October. There were more staff there than customers. It was horrible. We barely made enough money to tip the serving staff. Seriously.

I think that the lack of advertising killed it, I swear I remember being much younger hearing about moms on the radio all the time, way before I started playing out.

Good for you.

That still doesn't mean the place is worth a damn.

Of course, this is my opinion.

I cannot honeslty say that C-Street died at all, MOMS did but not the bar.

They still from what I know still kill it with cover bands. They (outside of MOMS) have never been too receptive to local original music as far as I have seen.

Yeah, MOMS kind of unceremoniously slipped away below the radar. I don't really get all the people that dog out CSW. I understand it has, at certain times, kind of a beaugois thing going on with the lawyers, doctors, and judges hanging out there, but I always enjoyed seeing shows there, and thought, at times, that back room could be an all together different universe from when you first walked in there. I remember the era that The Beautys, Fat Ass, Heavy Step, etc., played there frequently, and it ruled! I remember seeing Zeke there (and it being ungodly loud BTW!,) The Sabbathon show, The Slackers, The Chronics, the 80's Metal Tribute Show, etc, and like I said, I always liked seeing shows/playing there. I like Richard, but he has become hard to deal with, and next to impossible to book shows unless you went down there and talked to him (you couldn't call him/e-mail him/etc.) I also know that I attended shows, and there would be literally 5 people actually watching the show.

I really think that part of the problem was the start time of those shows (sometimes they wouldn't start until after 11:00) I know it's some stupid tradition to start weekday bar shows after 10:00, but I will never understand it. They keep saying "well no one comes out until after 10" but I'm certain, more people would come if the show started at 8 or so, and people could get home at a decent time. Not to compare other bars to Piere's shows, but those shows always start at 7 or 8, and people can drink just as much then, as they can at 11:30 at night. I don't know, it just always seemed dumb to me.

Yeah...real concerts start at 7...:)

All of the venues in the town have taken a downward turn. C-Street has always been a very 'cover band' place, but other shows had been great to see there as well...it just got 'old' for a lot of people...I used to go there 2-3 nights a week and it just got old seeing the same people doing the same thing...

It died out and then came back...all places do and will always do that...

Richard is hard to work with also...I don't know if it is a level of perfection that only he thinks he can obtain...if it is ego and he wants to have all the limelight of the production (i highly doubt that)...is it a trust thing? He can't trust others to do it not only his way, but the right way...I have approached him multiple times about working with FWM and CSW together and he wants nothing to do with it...so whatever...we do our own things and we do our best with it...

I would love to head over there and hang out again...but then when I get there..blah...same ol...been there done that...maybe I have grown up...maybe I suck...

Either way...that is the way of this town...and maybe someday it will change for the better...:)
