True on the Republicans. This country is so fed up with Bush's bullsh*t that the country is even willing to vote a black man or a woman into office! Man Bush must've messed up!

From what the polls show it looks like Huckabee is gonna win in Iowa, thanks to his endorsements by Chuck Norris.http://www.pollster.com/08-IA-Rep-Pres-Primary.php

and of course the ad commercial with chuck norris in it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=MDUQW8LUMs8

but i guess from his commercial he only has two issues: he's pro-gun and anti-immigration. Immigration and gun control are issues but they aren't the big ones that are going to win this election. The big important issues are: ending the war in Iraq, meeting and challenging climate change, and healthcare.

That's because you're a leftist. The big issues are... immigration, fighting terrorism and keeping America safe, winning the war in Iraq and lowering taxes even more to continue to spur economic growth. Climate change is horseshit - and it's a non-issue for voters. Now, those who believe in it are likely to vote left but that's because they lean that way anyway. Those who don't lean right anyway. The issue itself is a non-entity for the electorate.

Oh, and polls show America is more fed up with the Democratic run House and Senate than it is with Bush.

Conservatives will just stay home and anyone who leans left at all will vote for the Democrat anyway. Nobody who voted for Gore or Kerry will vote for Rudy, but lots of Bush voters will stay home.
It sure seems like Ron Paul is making a lot of progress, although still considered somewhat of a long-shot. Even in Fort Wayne, I've seen more support for Ron Paul (a lot of ads on campus) than any other candidate. I'm curious about how it will go for him on December 16 when it's expected he'll raise $6 million in fundraising in one day.

the big issue I have with him is he advocates for immediate, complete withdrawal regardless of consequence.

I think most common people have no concern about climate change, your hard pressed to convince people that the world is warming in the midst of a regional ice storm. "Free health care" sounds good on that phrase alone, but it would be destroyed in a debate and exposed for the flawed expensive scam it is. And for the first time in a long time the media is reporting the progress in Iraq (that wording chose carefully) I don't think people have the "lets get the hell out" mentality they may once of had. It's gonna come down to Imigration, economy, and mudslinging. I find it funny that the Democrats are still running against Bush.

Mostly agree with this....you'll find after the Iowa caucuii and after
the NH & SC primaries that the weeding out of candiates will
have honed down the field quite a bit...

Paul has a lot of money to keep going. Other than him, I see the R race coming down to Thompson, Rudy, or Romney. I just don't know if Huckabee's going to have the staying power. If he does, Thompson's the odd man out. Rudy and Romney splitting the "moderate" vote and Huckabee or Thompson pulling the conservatives (even though neither is all that conservative) and winning the nomination. But I could be wrong.

On the D side, it comes down to Hillary or Obama, unless something weird happens and the Breck Girl gets some momentum going.

Hillary won't win the Presidency unless the Republicans run Rudy or Mitt.

If Hillary is the Democrat candidate and Obama is her vice president, then I don't think they will able to lose. Almost all the women are going to vote for them, almost all black people are going to vote for them, and america is just plain sick of republican B.S. Republicans are hard on immigration, so lots of Hispanics are going to vote for the dems too. And Hispanics are like 10% OF THE COUNTRY. Women are 50%. Blacks are 15%. Figure it up. There just arent't enough white ignorant bigots to stop em.

The only way that I can see the republicans winning the presidency is if they catch osama bin laden or something else freakish happens, such as maybe terrorists shoot missiles at the US and the "missile defense" program works and stops the missiles. The only way the Republicans can get back on top is by illuminating their dedication to national security above and beyond the dems capabilities.

So the only way the GOP can win the presidency is through some freak occurence. The way it looks right now, I think Hillary is going to be the nominee. But I'm pulling for Obama, because he seems 'less full of sh*t' than most of the other candidates.

Huckabee is actually a damn good debater. I don't know what his outcome will be but even if he did win the GOP nomination, I don't think he could take on Hillary and Obama. They would be unstoppable in my opinion.

I actually think that would be an extremely easily beatable ticket. Hillary won't win anymore of the female vote than her husband did and she'll lose a lot of the male votes who did vote for her hubby. Women will vote according to their beliefs, not because another skirt is running. You obviously have far less faith in women's objectivity than I (the conservative) do. No pro-life women (and there are more pro-life women than pro-life men) are going to vote for her. No fiscally conservative women are going to vote for her. The women who voted Bush will vote Republican this time too. VP pulls nobody in anyway, and Dems always win like 90% of the black vote. LEGAL (i.e. elligible to vote) Hispanics are some of the strongest voices of opposition to amnesty for illegals. Also, there could be an argument made about that pairing being unconstitutional given both Hill and Obama's ties to Illinois.

Mitt Romney wont get the nomination because too many people distrust mormons. Rudy is the GOP's frontrunner. But Huckabee is a challenge now. He looks like he might take Iowa. We'll see what happens.

But I'm not too afraid of the Rs. I think the Dems have 08 in the bag.

well no sh*t, what do u think bush is going to do with democratic backed bills that dont have 2/3 support? he's gonna veto them. no crap they cant get anything done.

Like I said, unless something freakish occurs before the 08 election, I see some big changes are going to happen.
