This topic is almost funny to me now. I use macs. I love my mac. Some of my best friends use the pc. I don't give a sh*t. My computer does what I want it to do. Their computer does what they want it to do. When they call me for help, I say call someone else. Mac and PC are both tools. We learned in different ways and that is the end of the story.
Just don't call me when your pc does not work. I don't call you when my mac doesn't.

Okay, let's just assume for the sake of argument no FWM mac users are guilty. But it is a fact that other Mac users are the most annoying group of folk on the ol' inter-web. I don't know how many times I've been browsing message boards, reading completely unrelated material, when all of a suddy some apple fetishist somehow twists the thread into a discussion about how great Macs are, somebody always bites and says I like my PC just fine, and then twenty assholes have to explain AGAIN (probably the 10 millionth time I've read the exact same sh*t) why macs are better than PCs.
Sometimes it happens in the real world, too, but then you can just roll your eyes and chortle and they usually shut up.

There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who understand binary. . .
. . .and those who don't.

I always love the argument...it always has some interesting twist from EITHER side as to how much better one is over the other...
I always stand by the simple fact that they both do pretty much the same thing with the same ease and the same ability, but hand down the PC market dominates...and when you want to 'save money' you should choose the PC every time...you will have less up front expense and they don't 'crash' as much as a MAC user might like to tell you...
Bottom line...NEED...for certain industries will most likely make your choice for you...you are always free to use what you want...however, some companies will NOT allow a MAC to be in the building because they will NOT be responsible for answering your MAC related questions and problems...which do in fact exist...
Out company is one of them...

Chris made some good points there.
From my standpoint. I agree, a mac is going to cost you more than a comparable pc. No argument there.
From a technical standpoint pertaining to my job, when I build a system on a mac, I know the software was written for a certain spec of hardware. They either wrote the code to work well or didn't. On the pc side, everybody has a different chip set, diffrent processor, etc. To write code for that must be a b*tch. It's one variable I just do not want to deal with. Especially when the consumer comes to me to b*tch about it and I have to try to explain to them why their friend built them something at lowest possible cost that isn't up to spec.
No computer in my mind is really superior to the other. It basically falls on the end user and how well they are able to comprehend how to use it. (Which to be honest, the "average" consumer doesn't know anyways). With a mac, at least the variables in hardware are taken out of the question and that makes my job infinitly easier. I'm willing to pay more for that. I may also be a simpleton. But like most simpletons, I'm happy. I know how to make my sh*t do what I want it to. In the end that is all I really want anyways.

NEITHER ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER. THE FACT THAT THIS THREAD IS "STICKY" REALLY DISTURBS ME. must not be anything better to talk about on this site...
