Unrefusable offers always work.
I say if he is expendable, then cut him. If not then give him another chance but start looking at other drummers in case he does it again so that you don't have to fear cutting him the next something foul goes afoot.

What's this "IF" ? and.."IN CASE" ..he ripped the band off. If he was one of my people he'd be gone in less than a heart beat. There is ALWAYS a better musician out there to take his place, and probably a more honest one too.
oh..... in that case just make him give the money back to the people that bought burnt copies of cds. simple solution. and yell at the people that bought burnt copies. what a bunch of jerks. when's the release date on the CD? what's your band called? who do I contact to buy a burnt copy?

Great is an adjective thrown around all too quickly. Good might be a better word choice. Neal Peart is Great. Mike Portnoy is Great. Buddy Rich was Great. Dave Weckl is Great. The list of Great drummers in this world is a relatively short one.
"brad!
...your tunes and your playing sound really great... all the best to you and god bless-

This is all semantics. If I were going to describe those drummers I would definitely use an adjective a little higher on the ladder than "great". Maybe something like "amazing" or "incredible" or "unbelievable". To me, the word "great" is equivalent to "very good". It is all a matter of perspective.
Exactly what kind of riches are we talking about on the sales of 4 burnt cd's? If you are worried about that kind of money you might as well consider not playing in local bands anymore.
