I'll never do it again, I've had to do it too many times and there are too many good albums to narrow down on here. We'll get all sortsa crunk sometime and speak about it, I promise.

That's a fine list, Mr. Conley. Very musical, and a complete disregard for hipster regulations. I like that.

The 10 Best Albums Ever:

Toy Matinee
The Nightfly
Abbey Road
Pontiac (Lyle Lovett)
The Battle of The Bands (The Turtles)
Rockin' The Suburbs (Ben Folds)
My Aim Is True (Elvis Costello)
Revival (Gillian Welch w/ David Rawlings)
Heavy Weather (Weather Report)
That's The Way Of The World (Earth Wind & Fire)

Tied for 11th: the other 2,379 albums I should have put in this list.

But the top three are seriously as good as it ever got, as good as it gets.

Beck - Odelay
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Snoop Dog - Doggystyle
Eric Clapton - Unplugged
Old & In the Way - Breakdown
Blues Traveler - Four
Left Lane Cruiser - Gettin' Down On It
Primus - Brown Album
Grateful Dead - American Beauty
Ween - Quebec
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Nirvana - Unplugged in NY
The Band - The Band
Curtis Mayfield - Superfly
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Beastie Boys - License to Ill
Red Hot Chili Peppers - BloodSugarSexMagik
Metallica - The Black Album

I'm sure there are about 5000 others but these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.*

* I've only recently, within the past year or so, gotten into the blues. Give me another year or so and hopefully some blues albums will make this list.

Every recording engineer owns a copy (probably bought when it got cut out of the Reprise catalog). :D

It's been reissued. Listening to the 5.1 mix at the 2004 NAMM show was the most pleasurable, mind-altering audio experience I've ever had.

Tricky - Maxinquay (probably my all time favorite)
Portishead - PNYC of course
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique of course again
I would have to pick a Zeppelin album, but I don't know which one to narrow it down to.
Crass - The Feeding of the 5000
NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
Metallica - and Justice for All
Black Flag - Damaged
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Ministry - In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up...
Outkast - ATLiens
Pigface - FOOK
Deftones - self titled or Around the Fur. too close to call.

I could go on all night and still change my mind 100 times. This will have to do.
