Super-brief Movie Reviews...

Post by The_Dude »

Dan In Real Life = crap. My girlfriend liked it, though.

The Brave One = decent. It held my interest but it was your basic TBS or TNT movie.

Saw IV = Those of you who say this is the best one of the 4 haven't seen the previous 3. This is by far the least entertaining of the 4. Total letdown.

No Country For Old Men = Major disappoint. How on Earth did this movie win awards?

American Gangster = F'ing badass. Great movie. I want to watch it again.

I disagree. Nothing about the movie was anything special. To me, it was a typical shoot 'em up flick with an absolute HORRIBLE ending.

I will give you that the ending was vague, but it made me want to put the pieces together.

Hey, I like a mindless, 'spell it out for me' type movie as much as the next guy, but I do LOVE the occasional film the makes me think.

Films that pull you in and reveal character, nuance and finesse.

NCFOM did this wonderfully.

Especially since I just watched it last night.

Very few films do this without boring the crap outta me.

One good thing about the movie...Chiguhr. GREAT character.

I really liked "No Country For Old Men", and thought the ending was great.

It was only at the film's conclusion, that the part played by Tommy Lee Jones was ultimately revealed to be the true central character of this motion picture.

I found it to be quite a unique "twist" by the talented Coen Brothers.
