I Am Legend

Post by HillgrassBluebillyFTW »

So, does anyone plan on seeing this movie? Does anyone know anything about the originals?

You must see Omega Man for a comparison.

Charlton Heston at his finest.

True dat. Heston is at his jaw-popping, eye-rolling, teeth-gritting, scenery-chewing worst in "The Omega Man." It sucks in ways nothing ever sucked before. Of course, Vincent Price's "The Last Man On Earth" is even more comical in its own way.

Ebert's review this morning says that this new version is strongly divergent from the original novel, even though it's the first version to use the actual title. "Flawed, but gripping." Sounds okay to me.

And nobody can open a movie like Wil Smith right now.

For my money, Heston in Soylent Green is his best work...

Ah, but in "The Omega Man" there aren't a bunch of those pesky Characters Who Aren't Me to get in the way of his ultra-masculine monologue.

I have every intention of seeing this on Sunday. I've been keeping an eye on this for months, it looks great.

I thought that I read somewhere, perhaps Entertainmen Weekly, that the author had a favorable view of this version.

Will Smith is playing Will Smith again in yet another movie?

Sure would be cool if he played a CHARACTER again, like he did in Ali. . . . .

I saw it last night. It was good. The viral-zombie-man-creatures were a bit far fetched for my taste though.

Don't get me wrong, I dig the occasional monster flick but I think they would have done the story more justice by "keeping it real".

I can't believe I'm reading posts in regard to the depth of Will Smith's acting. Apparently you haven't seen him in interviews, watched Fresh Prince, or seen Jersey Girl. The characters he plays in other movies are SO not like him that I can't believe I've read this. The characters in Wild Wild West, Men In Black, i Robot, Bad Boys, and a host of others are all confident, suave, black males, but they are each different and are in different circumstances expressing different emotional reactions to those situations.

The guy can do drama, comedy, science-fiction, action, and probably anything you throw at him. He's the black Tom Hanks fo sho, mah brothas.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.
