This is such a great site, but all I ever see here are kids and metal heads. I'm always looking for different unique players. If your out there, post a comment! Thanks..

so...you are

A) not a kid, and
B) not a metalhead

any other info you may be interested in sharing about yourself and vision for your project? perhaps genre, ideas, style, your age, experience, et. al?

The scene seems very one sided. Any real musicians must already be in a band. Most people around here are really stuck in a rutt. Time to through a wrench in the wheel and start walking.

37, in a stable relationship (band :))... I found the drummer through this site. He knew a lead guitard, I knew a singer... The last band I was in was partially put together through this site as well. Neither were anywhere close to metal. One was an Americana/Folk/Bluegrass/Jam Band that is still together with a new bass player and their 3rd or 4th drummer. The current band is a Funk/Jazz/R&B/Jam Band and is made up of really skilled players who aren't afraid to experiment. I've also gotten to know several other really skilled bass players like Cale Reese, Marty Phillips, Andrew Teeple, and other musicians as well, that I might not have ever met without this site. There's been discussions with a couple of drummers on here and me about a percussion/drums/bass trio with percussion consisting of steel pans, marimba, etc... and a full kit and me running through some more effects on mostly fretless 6 just basically experimenting our fanny's off.

Stick around and you'll find your networking experience with other net-savvy musicians quite fulfilling.

my band found our bass player through this site and I'm with Brad, there are a lot of people I have met and networked with on this site that I may not have otherwise met.

You just need to state what you are interested in and the age range. There are musicians out there, you just have to tell them what you want to do and like minded people will contact you.

Oh yeah, add Jen Fisher to my list of people I met through this site :) well, that and the now defunct (unfortunately) Crash-N-Twang music store...

Yeah, I know a lot of people who have hooked up on here as well. There is certainly an issue of timing, the clarity/articulation of your needs and expectations in a post, and the patience of the poster. We have a really large member base, but only about 50-75 of those hit the site multiple times daily. The rest visit once a week or less. Of those who hit the site daily, most of them are already in bands, I don't think many of them are kids, and even fewer of them are metal heads.

Good luck in your search. It might help, though, if you refrain from insulting the member base when you're trying to endear them to your cause.

Thank you Brad!! :-) I miss C & T quite regularly but the guys at B-Sharp have been good to me.

I don't know if you meant to say lead guitard but I had a good chuckle out of that! Well done!

There are no musicians here. The whole site is a ruse for political pundits and sports fanatics. Run! Run while you can!

Well, I'm glad I didn't have to say it first.

I'm the front man for Open Wounds, and I talk with alot of the other local bands through this site. I found Open Wounds through this site as well as hooked up with some bands from out of the area from this site. So not only are bands in the Fort using it but from outside as well.
