Top 5 QBs All-Time

Post by MrSpall »

Got tired of reading about it on pages 4/5 of an unrelated post so here we go:

1. Elway
2. Marino
3. Montana
4. Staubach
5. Unitas

Brady and Manning may well crack the top 5 - maybe even the top 3 - before all is said and done. But right now? I'm just not sure.

And sorry Conley, but I saw Bradshaw's bare a$$ in "Failure to Launch" - he's now disqualiied from consideration.

Well, he WAS in his naked room, so that is allowed, right?

In no specific order, I'd put my top 5 as:

1) Marino
2) Kelley
3) Montana
4) Elway
5) Manning
5b) Brady

I can't really rank the likes of Unitas, Staubach or Tarkenton, althought I think they are up there, because I haven't really seen them play.

If Marino makes someone's list.....How can Favre not be on the list too? He's broken nearly all of Marino's records AND he actually won a Superbowl?

It's like that old Wilt vs. Russell debate. "I always thought Wilt was a better player, but if you gave me a choice of who to draft, I'd probably take Russell."

Marino was a freak and maybe the most talented QB of all time, but if you gave me a choice, I'd take any of the other guys listed - including Bradshaw, frankly. Favre makes too many stupid decisions for me to include him on my list.

It's a sports discussion. It's supposed to create arguments. Don't be such a sensitive wuss. Geez, no wonder you're a San Francisco fan :)

Agree with this list... until Brady & Mannings career is over, it's subjective
to compare them with players whose legacies are finished & set.

I agree as well, you never know Brady might end up like OJ in a few years.
