Thoughts?

My feeling is that this is mostly to do with the 'posses' that hang around with these young, rich athletes. Jim Rome was interviewing a guy last night (I wanna say Joe Green, but I could be wrong on that) who talked about his playing days in the 70's. He said they used to get into some trouble too, but when things started to get hairy his friends would tell him to get out, and protect his reputation. Today the friends are looking at the athlete and figuring with his money and fame, he can get them out of trouble. An unfortunate shift in perspective.

I blame OJ.

They're ultimately responsible for their own decisions. Good riddance, in my opinion.

It cracks me up that these two clowns just so happened to be teammates in college.

and it's a good school with a solid reputation. Just like the organizations these guys play for - at least in Adam Jones' case. Even the Bengals are made up of 90% good character guys and these clowns sully the reps of their organizations, their schools, the entire league, etc...

I think Adam's done for life. This sounds more like an indefinite/at least a year suspension in his case, because he's got some pretty serious stipulations to be reinstated. Anybody really think he can stay out of trouble for a whole year???? Without having his teammates around and being surrounded by thugs and gang bangers??? He'll be dead or in prison within 5 years.
