MLB: I love baseball but I don't really have a favorite player. As a kid I really liked Ricky Henderson and Paul O'Neill. I understand Henderson but the Paul O'Neill thing confuses me to this day.
NFL: Peyton Manning (he's got a big head, he's goofy, he's got funny yet sometimes annoying commercials, he runs like a sissy and whines like a girl but he's a great quarterback and is the most entertaining player in the NFL as far as I'm concerned)
NBA: Michael Jordan was the reason I watched basketball as a kid. The only reason.
NHL: n/a
MLS: n/a
NCAAB: Cherokee Parks (not really, but his name is funny. I don't have a favorite player. Yawn.)
NCAAF: Too many to name. A recent one that comes to mind is LaVar Arrington. He was an absolute monster @ Penn State. I would watch Penn State games just to watch him play. I couldn't care less if they won or not.

Answer is the same for both....
the only quarterback I'm aware of that helped engineer
a State football championship, a NCCA championship(almost two) & four
(count them four) Superbowl Championships.
Superbowl MVP = 3 times. Numerous NFC championships.
Changed the way the position is viewed.
the name.....
JOE MONTANA!

MLB: Growing up, even as a White Sox fan, loved watching Ryne Sandberg play. I've also had brief love affairs with Frank Thomas, A.J. Pierzynski, Paul Konerko, and Mark Buehrle.
NFL: Dan The Man Marino. Always.
NBA: I used to enjoy watching Reggie play, and I always loved the Magic/Bird rivalry games. Of course, Jordan was amazing.
NHL: Anton Semenov. I had his jersey in high school. I loved his name.
NCAAB: I loved Calbert Cheney. When he was at IU I never missed a game, cause he always made it interesting and gave us a shot.
NCAAF: Right now I gotta go with Jeff Smardzjia <sp>. It changes year to year with the ND roster.

This system cannot be reformed or voted out of office because reforms and elections do not challenge the fundamental causes of injustice.
