You came to me in what seemed to be a dream,
and told he things weren't always as they seem.
Don't belive them, as sincere as they might be,
when a person says to you the words, "I'm Sorry."

Are they? Or just have nothing better to say?
Two words spoken and everything is s'pose to be okay.
Like covering a gunshot wound with bandage,
such little effort can't repair the damage.

Two words overly used so much,
like "Hello, how are you?" and such.
So commonly said before you know,
dropped in passing or on the go.

Why did you come to me and tell me these things?
Knowing the problems this realization brings.
the meaning of the words, I can't comprehend this
lost in the darkness, ignorance truly is bliss.

Mostly spoken word (i think) with the only singing coming in the chorus.
