Please leave feedback below. A platform is being developed. Would you help?
[b]Okay, think of what little patience I have as, oh, I don't know, your virginity. You always thought it would be there, until that night Junior Year when you were feeling a little down about yourself and your pal Kevin, who just wanted to be friends, well, he dropped by and he brought a copy of About Last Night and a four-pack of Bartels & James and woo hoo hoo, it was gone forever - just like my patience is now.

I probably won't vote for you since I'm an evil conservative 8) , but you might be able to win my vote focusing on local issues, which aren't really affected by overall political philosophy.

Some aspects of my platform.

More support for local arts in all aspects - Fort Wayne has no "natural" tourist attractions (Lakes, Mountains, Oceans etc.) and no way to attract things like major sports teams. What we need to do is focus on our strengths. I would try to create more opportunities for people to bring arts and art events to the city We have a huge population base to draw from that is within a 2 hour drive of this city. Why isn't Fort Wayne somewhere you want to take your family for art, plays, music etc?

Building entertainment districts in areas where they make sense. - Saint Francis University is surrounded by 3 things. Industrial areas, a cemetery and houses. Taylor University is surrounded by houses. Indiana Tech is surrounded by a park, Industry and houses. IPFW is surrounded by major highways and roads, a river and an appartment complex. This is idiotic. North Anthony Maumee and Spring Street need to become like the Village in Muncie is to Ball State. With Taylor and Rudisill it's a bit more complicated. I don't believe in eminent domain for private works unless the area is TRULY blighted (ie. knocking down a condemned house to build a store or a park or something) So the Taylor issue might have to wait for a while.

We need a mall and a stadium downtown. Look what circle center and MSA did for downtown Indy. Increasing the size of the existing coliseum was stupid. There is no business within walking distance of that arena to help stimulate. However, what is done is done and I don't advocate building another arena. I do however advocate building a multipurpose facility downtown to host the Fort Wayne Wizards and outdoor concerts. If you want people downtown build something that they can't get anywhere else and give them somewhere to go right afterward so they don't jump in their car and go home.

more to come later

Good ideas, but alternately, (regarding the outdoor concerts & such) we're two hours north of Verizon Wireless/Deer Creek Music Center.

It would be difficult to find investors willing to pit anything against that. However, if it were to pass, it would definitely bring larger acts and more business to the city.

Well the outdoor concert usage would be a secondary usage for the facility - it's primary usage would be baseball.
