IMHO it takes away from this being 'news' and it just 'shock'. But they're trying to sell papers and violence sells.

Looks like he got in a decent fight. Not sure I see the shock or distaste. Considering he videotaped live beheadings and broadcast them with lead-ins of victim's photos, music, and logos.

WTF! You actually condone this type of press then? I don't care what the dude did, no one needs to see this type of thing. I sure as hell wouldn't want my kid, if I had one, seeing this in a newspaper bin on the street.

In essence, this is what you just said:

I just want to say that i guarantee it is only a fraction of what they would do if they captured and killed one of our leaders.

Don't forget, that regardless on how you feel about how the war has been handled, this guy was our enemy. If he saw you personally on the street you would not be buddy's, he hates you and wants you dead.

Okay, I doubt i'd ever see the guy "on the street", so there's really no point there, Al.

I would certainly never put myself in a position, i.e. join the military, to be slaughtered for being American.

He was an enemy of the US, you've got that right. But I'm sure that could have been prevented from happening a looooong time ago by previous administrations that, as it turns out, really helped create the anti-American sentiment with their bonehead actions in previous dealings with the Mid-East.

So here's why I am a tad sympathetic. You cannot sit back and blankly state that he was an enemy and deserved what he got without going back and examining the reasoning for their actions against us. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be too keen on someone invading this country, I bet you'd sign-up and fight for this place, right?

you really cant just blame our government for why they hate us.

they hate the people, the media, the entertainers .... so on. They hate our increasing lack of morals and caring.

so really while i agree that I am pretty damn sure that our government has messed themselves over the decades, can anyone honestly look at themselves and thier moral views and daily actions and say that this man would like you?

Three thoughts immediately come to mind.

1. Just a few days before, he was responsible for (9) heads
in a bag in the showing up in thesame town he was killed
in.(that doesn't include Nick Berg any dozens of others.)

2. Dancing in the streets of many Islamic cities in the Middleast
after 9/11 occurred.(also on front pages and televsion)

3.
