i think if you have the means to travel to play somewhere as far away as south bend (2-3 hours) you should think about taking a weekend, booking a friday- saturday and sunday out of Indiana, cause to be completely honest i think the whole indiana scene kinda sucks. Not all of it but there are definetly places better than indiana. Maybe do a show in louisville kentucky (about 4 and 1/2 hours) on a friday, play nashville on a saturday and then hit indianapolis on sunday on the way home or something. There are some decent venue's in louisville ... and in tennessee rocket-town is fornicatin awesome,(not just b/c its attached to a huge skatepark) but also b/c you can work out a contract with them where you will get gas money and they will get you a hotel room. In indianapolis i dont know of many all ages venue that book on sunday but you could check out club logo's they really support local's. Or go north hit up chicago on a friday, milwaukee on a saturday and maybe south bend sunday headionmg back... cheers is pretty cool for a bar in south bend. Also for playing shows.... i think that myspace is one of the best tools available to books shows. you can look for local shows by area code, then ask a band to swap shows. Or check the www.byofl.org ....

there are places other than indiana that aren't far away.

great food, great atmosphere overlooking the river,
live music each weekend

you provide all gear and PA, stage is small but can fit ~5
most bands play there play blues and r&b but the owner might be
open to something that draws younger crowds like pop/rock/dance -
I'm sure she would not want punk, metal or anything too loud due to her
regular clientele being used to things a bit more subdued.
PopNFresh plays there 2 weekends a month, *usually* first and last if you want to see how they set it up.
Bands playing tyical jukebox stuff would go over well.

Chopra's in Bluffton is no longer open. Seems that he couldn't keep his hands off of the underage staff.

A prior version of The Malo played at McCools in 03' That stage is huuuuge!!

Slipknot and Mushroomhead could both play at the same time.
