Post by conley »

Yup, the coolest place in town has informed me that they will no longer be having live music after this year. No live music at Henry's.....damn......WTF?

Keep the clients happy or they go where they find what they want.

Yeah but don't some of the 'clients' like the music also? I think it is not only sad but lame that they would do away with it altogether.

Sorta.

Music, at least here lately, has become a second thought there.

With the exceptions of Conley and a few others, *most* 'bands' really are to damn loud for that place.

People don't go to Hanks for the music, and more often than not, it sends them out the door for somewhere else to talk.

Heck, even conversation is noisy enough for that place.

Henry's has established itself as a hang out and music has lost its place there.

I dont like it, but I understand it.

MAYBE...and I am just saying maybe...it has nothing to do with the LOUD...maybe they just haven't found it in their heart to tell conley that he really isn't as good as he thinks he is and they just got rid of the music altogether so as not to hurt his feelings??

But I speak in jest...:-D

Actually...I would think bands are not the best option, but some sort of low key entertainment on the music front needs to stay at least a night out of the week..

Exactly.
I love Henry's...and I love live music, but in this case, it's two great tastes what taste not-so-good together.

There are plenty of other places to see the kinds of acts that perform at Henry's, and I find myself getting annoyed when they have a band simply because I look forward to being able to talk to people without screaming when I'm there (how do you like THAT run-on sentence?).
Talking = Henry's
See a band = not Henry's

I consider this to be a good thing.

Seems to me some comprimise could be reached here. Henry's is not a good place for a full band to play. I totally get that aspect. It seems they could still book solo or acoustic acts and make it work. Just my two cents.
