I know. I know. And yes there are bright spots. It's just hard to seize the opportunities when 99% of what I do is babysit as a sub, and put out little "fires" as it were all day in the form of name-calling "Your Mama" jokes, fake fighting, real fighting, "Jonein'" note writing, jumping on You Tube, being called "Cuz", "Dude", "Fam", etc....
It's just that I sometimes think that bringing back a more military-style behavior management approach might not be a bad idea.
But maybe it's just that I like violence and want carte blanche to use it!

with the FWCS "system"and some of the
fine output it achieves.

well all i have to say is these kids are pus$y's, i dont care i'd lay down the law! force proper english down there throats, and start being a smart ass! my dude used to teach culinary classes @ anthis and he was an as$hole, and he cursed, and even waved a few knives @ some students and told them to quit they're bit(hing! and he never got fired and the kids loved'm!

This makes me really appreciate all of the sacrifices my parents made to be able to afford to send me and my little brother to a small private school.

Subbed for 3 years. . .it was pure Hell.
Real Skool teeching is better.
The only thing that would make subbing worthwhile is if every skool building had a full-time resident sub; but that makes too much sense to implement.

Oh, and it helps to remeber what a clueless spawn of Hell YOU were at that age, and how you turned out Okay. That's what gets me through some bad days.
