Is chalkboard animation better than whiteboard animation?

Both animations are more or less the same and are used for the same purpose as well. Chalkboard animations explains your business using graphics that seem to be drawn with the help of a chalk. The black background helps the text to be prominent so that the customers can easily understand the business or product.
