Cruise control for annoying. . .I don't know why, but I really hate reading anything in all caps.

Though I don't care for it when people use caps lock excessively, I also think others overreact when someone uses it. It happens on every messageboard, too. Someone posts in all caps and 20 people jump down that person's throat like he actually just walked in to the room and started yelling at everyone.

Open the thread. See that it's in all caps. Close thread. Move on.

SERIOUSLY, I DON'T SEE WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS WITH IT. YEAH, I SOMETIMES THINK THE PERSON IS AN IDIOT, BUT I DON'T ALWAYS ASSUME THE PERSON IS TRYING TO "YELL" AND THEN JUMP DOWN THEIR THROAT. MOST OF THE TIME, THERE'S ABOUT 5 OR 6 ANAL-RETENTIVE POSTERS THAT JUMP ON THE PERSON ANYWAYS...

AND YEAH, IT HAPPENS ON EVERY BOARD, OCCASIONALLY IN EMAIL...BUT REALLY, JUST GET OVER IT. IT BOTHERS ME MORE WHEN PEOPLE CAN'T COMPOSE A GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT ENGLISH SENTENCE...

It's less of a Netiquette thing to me than it is an eyes thing. It hurts my eyes. I don't know why. It just does. I think I read an article a long time ago about it. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

To me, all caps is just annoying and more difficult to try to read.

I don't neccessarily disagree. I just find it WAY more annoying when people jump all over someone that uses all caps. They make too much of a deal out of it.

Browse FWM. Find a thread started by someone that's not normally a contributor. If the original post in that thread is in all caps, I'll guarantee you that there's at least one person making a big deal out of it. It NEVER fails.

I will point it out with an image or two, but I don't make a big deal out of it. I hope you don't mean me. When I comment on it, I generally just throw up a funny picture and leave it at that. No big deal. Just a succinct explanation of expectation.

I think this is the article you were reading --> http://www.4woman.gov/faq/menstru.htm

It really explains a lot of things you feel...

It was a general statement that applies to all messageboards I've ever frequented over the years.
