They wont have to hire them, they will already be there hanging out.

I know at one point they said they were gonna have a small splash park at the stadium for kids, I don't know if this is the same one though.

Yeah, this is great because all the other outdoor venues in town are booked solid all Summer, and the Village People need another place to play.

We also need another place for Wilco and other bands that are post Civil-War era to have to come up with excuses to skip. . . . .

Exactly...they can't book what we have...so let's build more that our tax money can 'maintain'...

Just great...

It's part of the promise to make the ballpark a multi-use facility, so when people don't attend the ball games, blame can be put on the people who don't come to the concerts.

and the 60-year-old white woman who will be in charge of booking can't figure out why she can't get anybody to come out and listen to Bill and the Gloworms

If all goes as planned, this will be pretty much in my back yard next year.

You know its difficult to watch some of you guys piss all over some very good possibilities for this town.

You b*tch and moan about "YOUR TAXES" going to this.

Look at you next pay stub...look at EXACTLY how much you pay in state and local taxes.

Then figure..what? maybe 10% of *that* is actually going to go to these projects.

What does that up to? Maybe $50 bucks a year?

Now look at what stupid sh*t you piss away $50 in a year over.

And don't lecture me about tax dollars and where it goes...Its how the world turns. You pay taxes...people spend it.

You want to change how the wheel turns, run for office and change it.

Its not the best system, but its the one we have. Other wise find your utopia and move there.

Jeebus H people. Someone is at least *trying* to improve this town.

forking hypocrites. You complain when there's nothing to do and complain when someone offers up ideas.

Shut the hell up already or do something about it.

I embrace all of the ideas coming across the table. Anything is better than nothing.

So go blow you $50 on booze or weed or esoteric audio cables or whatever and stay the hell out of downtown when the fun starts happening

I for one am excited about the Downtown improvements, including the ampitheatre. I do fear, based on past experience, that the people in charge of booking will give us the same old, same old. I wish they had built the stadium downtown 5 years ago BEFORE they bilked the taxpayers for millions to improve Wizard Stadium, only to then replace it 5 years later. I liked the idea then, and I like it now. I simply don't like how they went about it. I hate the abuse of imminent domain, but I do think the stadium, the expansion of Grand Wayne, the expansion of the library, and the rest of the Harrison Square improvement projects are going to be a great addition to downtown. I believe downtown could well be thriving in the next 3-5 years, and I hope it is.
