Bad sound system? I know the second stage had a problem with a sub being blown after one of the bands, I'm not saying which band blew the sub but I have a pretty good idea. But as far as over all sound system it was waaaaay worth the money. And waaay better than any other I've heard.

I was told by one of the musicians that they could not hear themselves play on the second stage BUT if you were a fan sitting in front of the second stage you could hear fine. I realize the band not hearing themselves is a big deal... and I warned every band about it.

As far as the second stage, this was my first time doing an event like this and I wanted to include as many bands as possible. I took the advice of someone who had done something like this before and found their advice to be not the right advice. I already have plans to remedy this when I do this event next year.

As far as the organization of this event. I put this whole thing together in 2 months, I'll start earlier next near.

As far as the time schedule goes, Sean, we only had a problem with the first few bands, due to a communication break down. But with some clever manuevering got back on schedule.

The attendance was good for the day... it was hot as hell out on saturday. People came for the bands they wanted to see and headed for cooler pastures.. don't blame them at all. In the evening once the sun went down.. the attendance was great. The second stage actually had better attendance than the first during the day thanks to the shade.

As far as vendors, we weren't sure what we were allowed to do, due to contractual obligations that TRF had with their vendors.

I like the idea of the all day merch table and will add that into my notes. Thank you.

For the most part you can chalk it up to a very successful learning experience. If any of you have suggestions please feel free to send them my way.

There will be Maumee Music Fest 2007.. I promise.

Also.. if you saw the shirt I was sportin on Saturday we're taking orders. Get a hold of me.

And thank you to the bands, the people that helped out, the people who rocked out. You all made it great.

I hope everyone had a blast.

No. The bands were not made aware.

And I hope someone did.

i think for all the work and scheduling involved - for the little timeframe that you had to do it all in ... yesterday was a huge success ... i only mentioned the schedule thing because it seemed like there were a few occasions during the day i would check the schedule and decide when it was a good time to leave for food or a nap (the heat makes me super tired) and when i came back the shows were either still not underway or casey stansifer was nowhere to be found

maybe i grew delusional from the heat - wouldnt surprise me

i think the set up for the stage in front of the grassy hill was incredible ... that was genius ... a tiny deer creek - that should remain for next yr imo and the other stage could be moved somewhere else with maybe a bigger tent available for attendees to stand other

none of that may be possible - but it would definitely help if the temps are as high next yr

again - major props and way to go anderson - you put on a helluva show!

Can I have more than four hours of sleep in one complete day before I start on next years?

Here is all I have to say... if you enjoyed what I did with two months prep time.. imagine what I have in store with a years prep time.

Maybe I shouldn't say that.. maybe I'm setting myself up to high... but I will have bugs worked out, and I will have changes and things will be awesomer.

I was there with frinds and band mates from 115pm till well it was after i saw a little mojo dub and some Lo automatic..... by the way they both were great

We ( the band and friends ) had a great G-d #$%# time
the sound going out on the " GRASSY KNOLL " was great , and the building helped block the other band.

as i recall , i saw people comming over the hill and sitting and watching and all around in the shade

Suggestion: SHADE MAN SHADE ...... there were a shite load of folks hovering in the SHADE...

Yeah the sound on the small stage for the perfomrmers was not a wonderful thing.... But screw it in the ass man..... run with it .... Exposure is the key element here

when the dealer sells you clean trip.... dont fight it man... relax and run with it

it was fornicatin hot

SHADE

and a swim in the pool

thanks for everyone who set this event up .... lets see all i had to do was show up and play hmmmmmmm sounds like s good time to me

SHADE

peace

I'm glad there is a good discussion about this. I was unable to attend due to family obligations, so enh. . .I missed it.

What I heard was the story of just one participating member who has asked me to remove his affiliation with fwm.com because of it, and THAT made it seem like there were possibly some major problems.

I wasn't trying to start problems, I just wanted to know if anyone else had similar experiences, but from the responses I've seen here, it sounds like an isolated experience.

Thanks for the inflo!

we played the 2nd stage....once music started on the other stage, it was absolutely impossible to hear anything going on on our stage. if you were sitting on the grassy knoll, you could hear, but with the music from the other stage in your right ear whilst trying to play, all that was going on was drums and bass from the other side.

suggestion for next year- ONE BAND PLAYING AT A TIME!

+1

Serious timing issues because our drummer could only hear DG playing which threw our time off for the whole show. We missed breaks and cues due to not being able to hear. Skip the deejays, alternate stages. One band sets up while another plays.

Yeah, we'll need to work out kinks as far as staging. Originally, the stages were supposed to be set-up differently, but after realizing how much power we needed & meeting with a city electrician, a last minute desicion was made to move the big stage over by the Arts United Building (by the circuit box) & turn the other facing the grassy knoll (best situation for sound & shade)

As it was said....for the first year, we wanted to show 3RF & the community as many great local dj's & bands possible & wanted to include as many performers as we could.

Next year, we'll start planning earlier and, of course....we welcome volunteers!!!

I thought the sound system was fine on the main stage, sounded better than the TRF Tent on stage.

I'm planning on it, depending on my schedule. And overall, I thought it was a great first year. Some minor kinks to work out, but I had a great time and got to see some bands for the first time.

Moser Woods is incredible! LLC's set was great! I dug Unlikely Alibi quite a bit too. And from where we were, Definitely Gary kicked its usual ass! Of course, since we were playing at the time, I would have preferred not to hear their set :P

I warned Felix about it... hoping he would spread the word.
