SSB - let's you and me start a killer cover band and call it "Crockett & Tubbs." :D Agreed! Let's find a female lead singer that looks like Don Johnson's wife circa 1978. A pre-plastic surgery Melanie Griffith, back when Hollywood producer Robert Evans claimed he could bounce a quarter dollar off h...

LOL! Well, no Lycra, but almost worse. Think Dirk Diggler in his "genuine Italian polyester" and you're in the ball park. :D Funny! You've just reminded me of my own sordid past with regards to musical attire. It's 1985, and I'm playing with Todd Harrold in the "Eyewitness" band at Columbia Street ...

Speaking from a purely technical point? That extra guitar adds another aural layer the would be missed. Be it either a crunchy rhythm or a finessed acoustic. It's not like you suck at it either. Keep it. You can always set it down on the songs that dont *need* it. I was speaking from a purely music...

Seriously, I wish there was a forum for local musicians and fans of music (the stuff that comes in through your ears), instead of this fashionista thing you all seem to be into (about the stuff that comes in through your eyes). I agree. The actual discussion of music is in very short supply around ...

Re: Musicians group sues restaurant in Angola

1) Mitchell Fremion being sued. 2) Attempts Friday to contact each of the Club Paradise owners were unsuccessful. 3) Over the past three years ASCAP has sent letters to Club Paradise – some of them by certified mail – and left countless messages for owners, which were never returned. 4) A certi...

Uh, so I guess my point is................Music is self expressive and as a player, you should be free to do whatever you want to - as long as you understand and stay within the "confines" of the "music" you are playing. I'm a big advocate of playing appropriately for the song. However, I believe i...

Oh, okay! Thanks for the explanation. So, my mando and Willie Nelson's acoustic are now competing for 'mojo-ness.' My mando does sound better, the more I play it. My former instructor said a mando has to be "woken up" by playing it; it gets louder the more it's played. My 1984 Tama Superstar drums ...

Huh?
It's a guitar player "thang". Some believe your instrument "acquires mojo" as it ages and wears through lots of playing, including bumps and scrapes it receives along the way.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but is it possible GJC has a bee in her bonnet that her husband didn't get hired to perform at this event?
