Re: Blindness

Trolling around the forum... I did eventually see the movie. The book was a lot more graphic and disturbing, but the movie did a pretty good job. I think the book had longer drawn out scenes in the hospital, which added a lot of uncomfort, but I think that was one of the strengths of the story. Its ...

Tron: Legacy 3D

While I didn't read any reviews going into the movie, I did have half a thought that the movie wouldn't be as awesome as I really wanted it to. But, since I had the afternoon off work and a free movie pass to burn, I decided to check this out. I opted for 3D as I wasn't paying for my own ticket and ...

McAlister's Deli

I've been wanting a good deli in Fort Wayne for a long time and while its not a famous hole-in-the-wall like I see on Food Network in big cities, I think its a step in the right direction. And since they had both a New Yorker (pastrami and corned beef) and a Reuben - my two favorite sandwiches - I w...

Re: 800 Degrees Wood Fired Pizza - Slammin'!!!!

The food was decent when I went. My wife and kids split a margherita pizza and I had some pasta. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I would call, "to die for". My biggest quip was the service setup. We waited to be seated, were given menus, then walked up to the counter to order food. We were then giv...

Hey, I love the idea of questioning everything, I really do. But when it comes down to someone asking you what you believe in, they want your perspective, normally a definitive response -- generally speaking -- not a relative view on one's philosophy of all things. On the cutting edge of science, th...

Are you as argumentative in real life as you are on here?

I voted, no, but pretty close. And really, it depends on where I am at. I'm a business analyst by trade, which means I get paid to scrutinize every little detail and argue (for or against) the opinions of other people (when dealing with how to go about designing things in software). So, when I'm at ...

Well, I don't believe it's a stretch. I find science and religion almost identical. Okay...well, I didn't say YOU believe what you wrote was a stretch. Gold and lead are almost identical, too. What's your point? We can only accumulate evidence to support what we think is true. Just because we can't...

Yeah, that's a stretch and I think you are just wanting to debate semantics at this point...and examples that "don't contradict" or support are still providing a proof for the theory. Having faith in a god is not the same as having faith that if I walk outside, I won't melt...but maybe they are the ...

Yeah, science requires proof, religion requires faith.
