honestly, all that needs to be live are the drums and crowd mics. you can overdub all the rest. most live stuff i have recorded, the drums and room mics are all we end up keeping most of the time.

if you find yourself with an extra input, i would take a direct out of the kick drum too. then submix the rest of the kit to a stereo bus.

bassjones, i agree. bass is just different. probably has to do with where the fundamental frequency range of the bass is as opposed to a guitar. also, tubes breaking up for a bass guitar is not always a desired effect.

although i prefer a good tube amp, i have some solid state amps that really get some good clean tones. imo, a tube preamp paired with a solid state power section is kinda a lost cause. the tube "feel" has more to do with the power tubes than the pre tubes. bass guitar is a totally different story ho...

yes, macs have right click. however, if you only have a one button mouse, you will have to ctrl + click to get your "right click" options... any standard multiple button mouse will work with a mac.
